as more news gets out that the 'safe zone' in sri lanka is a mass of flames, tamils gathered in parliament square this morning with black flags

the mood is sombre. the news the tamils are receiving just gets worse and worse. western governments, including our own, are allowing the sri lankan government to continue on its genocidal path.

the response from parliament here is to find new ways to clamp down on protest - they are not listening to the cries for help on their doorstep. i guess half the politicians probably have business interests that will benefit in some way from this attack on the mineral-rich area of sri lanka.

the tamil protestors have tried every peaceful method they can think of to get media attention for the plight of their families and relatives in sri lanka. they have been met with violence and force and now political repression.
