Thursday started with an action outside the European Carbon Exchange in Bishopsgate (where the G20 camp was) - Activists set up a Carbon Casino inviting people to gamble on the future of the planet to highlight the issues around carbon trading [report+video][climate camp pics]
At the camp much of the day was spent finishing the set of up infrastructure around the site [photo report | 2 | 3]. After discussion within the camp the police were refused entry onto the site (with people blocking the entrance) - subsequently the camp media team accused the police of threatening to cease liaison if they weren't allowed back onsite for daily meetings. The camp media team later announced the police had agreed to conduct the meetings off the site [report] [pics]
With the main marquee erected the first large plenary meeting took place [twitpic] in the evening and the camp announced two local public meetings - Sat 3.30pm at Greenwich Community Centre, 141 Greenwich High Road, and Sunday at the camp itself. Many local residents have been visiting the camp and meeting the activists throughout the day and a letter to residents is being distributed.

Good piece
Contrary to popular belief, Climate Camp is not about fighting the police – it's about fighting climate change.

Head of Security at Climate Camp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXwE1OlI8ZQ&feature=channel_page
I the Climate Camp's head of security quite naive TBH. Her attitude seems to be that the police really have changed and are there to help; this is complete BS.
The police are currently attempting to mend their reputation as without public support they risk losing control. Regarding public dissent, worst possible thing happened to the state in April 2009; the wider public and media began to have sympathy with activists. As soon as the police have achieved their objective it will be back to business as usual. Evidence of this is the ongoing police attitude to smaller less visible activist protests and actions.
There is a real threat that if people like her continue to help the police with their cynical PR campaign, then we will all face more danger, not less in years to come.
