New Indy London Website Feature - Groups

There are now some new features in this website. If you are part of a group doing non-hierarchical organizing, and you either need a web presence or are sick of using your (probably corporate) current provider, we've got a solution for you - the new Groups feature of this website.
Places: brixton
Any registered user of the site can start a new group page - here's the Indymedia London group page as an example of what a group page looks like. Then, when you contribute content to the site, you can choose to include content within your group. This accomplishes a few things.
First, people reading it will know that it came from your group. Second, every time you add content to your group, it'll show up on your group page - so people who might be interested in working with your or finding out more about what you have to say will be able to see at a glance what your group is about, what you've been writing, what upcoming events your group has planned, or what videos you've uploaded.
We're hoping that this feature can give a boost to organizing in London and will help provide an alternative to blogger.com, myspace, etc. for social justice activists. Have you ever read the terms and conditions for any of these sites? They're nasty!
Obviously our groups functionality isn't the best in the world just yet (we've only put about three days of work into it so far) but we plan to improve it as time goes by. Please try it out and let us know what you think!
If you're not yet a registered member of this site, you'll need to register first. After that, you can go to the new groups page and start publishing.
