Massive vote for strike at Sussex (see main article, below).  Also, around about lunchtime, this report was received: "Sussex House, the building where management rule over campus, was occupied minutes ago. It looks like the police are going to try to evict the occupiers."

Around 50 people demonstratedon Friday 12 Feb, 2010 outside the Holborn offices of SERCO in Hand Court in support of the women detained in Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre, run by SERCO, who are protesting at the inhumane treatment they receive there and whose hunger strike was broken up in a violent assault by SERCO officers on Tuesday.

Demonstration at the French Consulate

About 20 people demonstrated today (9 February) at lunch time in front of the French consulate in Cromwell Rd, London. The demo had been called by London NoBorders to protest the police raid of the "Kronstadt Hangar" by French authorities in Calais last Sunday.

People put up banners and distributed leaflets. Police was around and made sure no protester got inside the consulate.
