As part of a 2006 stock transfer, Swan Housing took control of The Exmouth Estate from LBTH, promising improved services to everyone.
Shortly after residents began to witness the emergence of a two tier class system on The Exmouth Estate. Residents who blindly approved of development decisions by Swan benefited from well maintained living conditions.
However things were much tougher for those residents who questioned Swan's decisions, as decay due to lack of maintenance set in.
Autonomy and Solidarity would like to announce their arrival by endorsing this Friday’s demonstration assembling at Canary Wharf tube station at 5pm then marching on Lehman Brother’s offices.
We are a newly formed social anarchist/class struggle anarchist group at Goldsmiths University. We intend to focus on social issues and fight for students as workers, on the basis that most students will have part time jobs and will more than likely be workers when they graduate. We hope to do this first by education around social issues, then by information campaigns such as ‘workers rights’ forums, and ultimately through workplace activity. We will strive to build links to local struggles in the area and hope to see students as part of the community, not ‘the student community’.
And in between all this we’ll be doing films and talks to have a bit of chat about what anarchism actually is!

The planning for the London FreeSchool week is going well with confirmed workshops and the such like starting to appear on the website: http://londonfreeschool.wordpress.com. Bowl Court Social Centre, the original location for the weeks event, was sadly evicted a couple of weeks ago. However, the event lives on and has moved to the rampART (http://www.rampart.co.nr) and LARC (http://www.londonarc.org.) After all a free school should not be limited and contained by concrete walls!
A week long London FreeSchool event will be taking place between the 1st and 7th of September 2008 with workshops, discussions and skill-sharing. Themes will include Food, Creative Arts, Permaculture, Gender, Science and Languages. The event will be completely free and open to all people willing to respect the ideals of the free school and each other. if you would like to facilitate or suggest a workshop, skill-share or discussion then please let us know by the 25th august at the very latest. if you are not london based then why not arrange something in your own town?

The Wembley 'Tent City' Occupation located on Wembley Park Sports Ground, was opposed to the plans for a privatised Wembley Park Academy school to be built on one of the few remaining green areas accessible to the local community for sports training. The campaign is in keeping with the wave of resistance [more] to new school academies up and down the country.
